The Benefits of Educational Technology and e-learning

Technology is an ubiquitous factor in our everyday lives, including our jobs and our education.  It has been improving the performance of students of all ages.  Teachers use it as a tool to engage students in it’s usage by students as an avenue for creativity, career planning, education, and communication. Technology is used universally and it has definitely paved the way for growth amongst our society.

Teachers have found that technology is a creative way to connect students with information.Originally teachers would read a book out loud and the kids would be either falling asleep or paying attention to other kids. Fast forward to today, teachers use power point presentations to catch the student’s attention, though some students still don’t pay attention it catches many more of the students attentions. The web is another useful tool which connects students to experts in the real world and provides numerous opportunities for expressing understanding through images, sounds, and text. Innovation has found its way into students projects because of the information at their fingertips.  They can now acquire and refine their analysis and problem solving skills as they work individually and in teams to find, process, and combine information they’ve found online thru useful search engines online.

Also, without technology students wouldn’t be able to manage their education or future career. For instance, a web designer needs a computer in order to create a website.  As to an accountant who needs a calculator to do all their calculations as quickly as possible. When students are using technology as a tool or a support for communicating with others, they are in an active role rather than the passive role receiving information transmitted by a teacher, textbook, or broadcast. Technology allows students to think actively about information, decisions, and executing skills rather than trying to figure things out on their own. Furthermore technology is a very useful thing to students, as to teachers, and even parents to communicate and learn about many things. In addition, technology has made it fun, interesting, and has made learning easier for students with the many options out there.
