Students want Technology in Class

Findings showed that there were numerous advantages including enhanced student achievement, advanced skills and problem solving opportunities, more comprehensive student assessment, increased student motivation, increased family involvement and instruction and experience in future job-related skills. This study was found in 1996 called "Getting America's Students Ready for the 21st Century: Meeting the Technology Literacy Challenge".

Many students see school as an accepted ritual that one has to endure to move on to the next level, a place where educators are dispensers of knowledge and students are merely the vessels waiting to be filled. There are teachers that make education interesting by interacting with their students which is a good thing because most of these teachers allow the use of technology for an advantage. The Internet world is changing at a rapid pace and the textbook will soon be obsolete because it doesn't keep up with things that happen everyday.

Also, careers today have a requirement of using technological competency. We have schools that receive new types of technology for the teacher's advantage but they forget about the kids. As most school districts, they block certain websites to students. YouTube, one of the most popular websites up to date, is blocked by  school districts because of its  content. Most people don't realize that people use YouTube for news updates. We use the inter net for news than a newspaper. Even though some online newspapers are starting to charge viewers for subscription, the internet keeps news updated every minute of every hour.

An article where I recieved most of the facts are below
